In a neighbourhood known for its artsy destinations, the Ministry of Awe stands out as the most beautifully bizarre spot. Housed in a grand 19th-century bank designed by architect Frank Furness, this immersive art experience doubles as a museum, theatrical performance, haunted house, and adult playground.

Make art your playground at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens
Art doesn’t have to hang in a gallery—it’s right here for everyone to see and consume, like at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens on South Street where visitors can wander through a glittering garden of mosaics. Honouring the city’s vibrant public arts scene, this three-block indoor and outdoor space is an eccentric outsider art installation featuring a riot of glass, ceramics, and found objects. The brainchild of Philly artist Isaiah Zagar, the installation also showcases larger-than-life murals featuring everything from local residents to psychedelic skylines and abstract compositions.
Open all year round
