The collection, amassed over decades by a lifelong horse and pony enthusiast, includes hundreds of horses, large Border Fine Art groups and rare Beswick rocking horse grey porcelain figures.

Richard Bromell, from Charterhouse, said: “The owner has been involved with horses and ponies all her life and collected the Beswick horses and Border Fine Art horse groups over the past few decades.

Hundreds of pieces stored in purpose-built cabinets for preservation (Image: Charterhouse) “Needless to say, they were all over the house and even in special purpose-built cabinets to keep them safe and secure.”

The collection will feature in Charterhouse’s specialist auction of Beswick and Border Fine Art on Tuesday, September 23.

It is expected to fetch £10,000.

Charterhouse is now accepting further entries for this auction.
