Aspen Art Fair 2025: Exhibits, tours, panels, and more

The Aspen Art Fair’s cultural program brings together artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts to enjoy an eclectic celebration of creativity across Aspen and Snowmass Village. 

A six-day event, the fair will be held from July 28 to Aug. 2 in Aspen and Snowmass Village. The schedule is packed with a plethora of thoughtfully curated tours, lively panel discussions, and elegant receptions. From morning talks to evening events, the fair offers opportunities for the public to engage with art while being in a stunning mountain setting.

Events begin with a curator-led tour of the Aspen Art Museum from 11 a.m.-noon, Monday, July 28, at 637 E. Hyman Ave. Then, a private tour will view the art collection of Ernesto and Cecilia Poma from 2-3 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., a conversation with Issy Wood and Johanna Fateman will be held at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, 5263 Owl Creek Road in Snowmass Village. An evening panel, “Evolving Roles with Art and Film,” is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Isis Theatre, 406 E. Hopkins Ave., and includes a screening of the award-winning short film, “Medusa.” The panel includes artist Sarah Meyohas, founder and CEO of MTArt Agency Marine Tanguy, and Executive and Artistic Director at Aspen Film Susan Wrubel, moderated by investor and philanthropist Melony Lewis. 

Tuesday, July 29, starts with “Denver in Aspen,” a preview of Denver’s contemporary art scene, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the J-Bar at Hotel Jerome, 330 E. Main St. The invitation-only Collector’s Preview follows from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., with a ticketed VIP opening reception from 3-5 p.m., both at Hotel Jerome. A “Walk and Talk with collector Barbara Berger and fair co-founder Becca Hoffman runs from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, leaving from the J-Bar at Hotel Jerome. Then, from 11 a.m.-noon, the panel “Connecting Generations: Families and Collecting” takes place in the Wheeler Room at Hotel Jerome. A drop-in session on art insurance and risk management is scheduled from 12:30-2 p.m. at Felix Roasting Co. in the hotel. 

In the afternoon, at 2 p.m., there is a tour of the “Sculpting the Environment” exhibition at The Resnick Center for the Herbert Bayer Studios, located at 610 Gillespie Ave. The tour will focus on Bayer’s connection to the landscape and his affinity for Aspen, while another panel at the same time, “A Collector’s Point of View,” occurs at Hotel Jerome. The panel will discuss the “motivations, strategies, and personal philosophies” at the heart of Nancy Magoon, Christine Mack, and Sharon Hoffman’s collections, as well as art collecting in the current art scene.

The events for Thursday, July 31, include the “Women’s Walk and Talk” from 8:30-9:30 a.m at the J-Bar at Hotel Jerome, and, at 10 a.m., the home tour of Rona and Jeff Citrin’s art collection. Then, an insurance question and answer session on art insurance and risk management will be held from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Felix Roasting Co. at Hotel Jerome. Artist Catherine Opie will host a studio visit at Anderson Ranch Arts Center at 11:30 a.m.

A home tour of the Victoria Music Box residence will be held from 10-11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 1. A tour of the Red Brick Gallery exhibition is scheduled from 11-noon at 110 E. Hallam St. Bob Chase and Becca Hoffman will present a curated selection of the 2025 Colorado Juried exhibition. Then, at 12:30 p.m., a discussion with artist Mickalene Thomas, collector Darlene Pérez, and advisor Anita Heriot will be held at Casa Tua, located at 403 S. Galena St.

The fair concludes Saturday, Aug. 2, with closing brunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the Aspen Art Museum rooftop. This is the last opportunity for bids in the ArtCrush Online Auction, which closes at noon.

The fair features 44 international exhibitors showing contemporary painting, sculpture, and design. One key installation is A (Hotel) Room of One’s Own,” curated by Wendy Cromwell, which transforms a hotel room with works by artists including Julia Bland, Max Lamb, and Ruby Neri.
