Medway Select Board Recognizes Artist

Monday night (May 4, 2026), the Select Board recognized Medway High School Junior Kimora Chin, a 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards recipient.

Kimora, who first developed an interest in art in middle school, is entirely self-taught and has never taken a formal art class.

Kimora shared that she submitted 20 digital pieces to the Scholastic Awards and was recognized for three of them, earning a Gold Key, a Silver Key, and an Honorable Mention. Her Gold Key was awarded for “2 People Untitled” (1st photo), the Silver Key for “In the Clerb We All Fam” (2nd photo- top right), and Honorable Mention for “Xander” (3rd photo – bottom right).

She notes that she finds digital art somewhat easier than traditional work. “Digitally, I like to layer a lot, and I don’t erase in any of my art. I go over mistakes and fix them as I go, focusing on value, color, and mark-making,” Kimora explained.

Congratulations, Kimora! We wish you the very best of luck as you continue to pursue your passion and reach for your dreams.
