Even if you haven’t picked up a paint brush since elementary school, you can create iconic, mess-free wall art out of LEGO bricks. Over the last few years, LEGO has been expanding its art line for adult builders with pieces inspired by Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Haring—and now, Monet.
The latest release is a recreation of one of Monet’s most remarkable pieces: Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies. As someone who has an entire collection of LEGO sets, this is one of the prettiest to date—and I think it’s well worth the splurge.

I’ve been lucky enough to see the real thing at Monet’s home in Giverny, France, and the actual painting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. After seeing the real thing in person, I really feel that LEGO did a beautiful job bringing to life the 1899 Impressionist masterpiece with three-dimensional bricks. It’s getting added to my collection, no question.

What I appreciate most about this set is the use of unconventional pieces, like butterflies and bananas, along with flat LEGO dots that mimic the paint strokes that Monet used in the original oil painting.
I’m constantly struggling to find shelf space to display my finished builds, so I love that this set is designed to be placed on a wall like actual art. Once finished, it is 20 inches high, 16 inches wide, and 1.5 inches deep—and it comes with the hanging mechanism you’ll need.
This set is for adult builders ages 18 and up, mostly because its designed to be displayed. Plus, it contains 3,179 pieces, some of which are super tiny, so plan on spending a full night or two on assembly.
